Business analysis for government and commercial organisations

Not all of these techniques are used in every project - only those that will contribute effectively to the goal of the project.

Examples of projects where we have carried out business analysis work

• NSW Department of Lands - Enterprise Image Registry   A major system to store, search for, view, navigate around and print millions of images. This involved business analysis, technical design and project management.
• ASIC - Enterprise data modelling   Enterprise conceptual and logical data modelling.
• NSW Department of Lands - Electronic File Delivery   A redevelopment of DOL's electronic file delivery system which provides land-related information to hundreds of organisations. We were documented the existing system and presented a technical strategy to replace it.
• NSW Department of Lands - SIX Portal   A redevelopment of the department's extranet which is business critical and used regularly by thousands of organisations. We were involved in the technical documentation.
• Dynamix - Order King   An extranet for the clients of this advertising company to order point-of-sale products. The system also enables fulfilment and stock control. We designed and built the system.
• Department of Primary Industries - Derelict Mines   Project management and business analysis for a system for the department to manage derelict mines around NSW.
• Department of Lands - Government Property Register   A politically high-profile system to allow the Government of NSW to track land that they own. We have been involved from a business analysis standpoint.
• Department of Planning - BASIX   A 3 year project in which we carried out business analysis and technical project management activities. This project was monitored at ministerial level.
• Audi - corporate web-site   We carried out the business analysis, the technical specification and project management for this business-critical web-site.
• Kids Helpline - online counselling   We did the business analysis, project management and technical specification for this one-to-one real-time counselling service.
• NSW Rape Crisis Centre - case management and online counselling   We did the business analysis, project management and technical specification for another implementation of the counselling service.
• Interati - Eden   Project management and financial modelling for this web-site framework which was Interati's flagship product.
• Gee Publishing - subscription systems migration   Business analysis activities were undertaken to migrate three subscription management systems into one new system.
• Gee Publishing - Gee Business Network   A subscription-based service to allow users to search for corporate law and finance information. We worked on business analysis and project management.
• Thomson Corporation - editorial system strategy study   A strategy study carried out across a number of Thomson publishers with the aim of streamlining expenditure on editorial systems.
• Janes Information Group - editorial system   Business analysis and programming to design and build an editorial system to allow easy publication of directories on various media.
• Thomson Financial Services - Acquisitions Monthly editorial system   Business analysis and programming to design and build an editorial system to help them to publish their periodical.
• Roland Berger - Volvo pricing   Business analysis work to analyse and determine pricing models for Volvo cars.
• The Avenue - financial modelling   Cashflow modelling helped this high-profile London restaurant gain GBP1m in funding.
• Mineral Resources Development Company - Lihir financial modelling   Cashflow modelling for this huge gold mine helped to make financing decisions.
