Derelict Mines

The Derelict Mines Programme assumes responsibility for sites of past mining activity for which no individual or organisation can be held responsible.

A system was required for administrators to store detailed information against mines. The system must be able to calculate risk profiles of mines and to produce a PDF report.

Business analysis work was carried out to understand requirements and then produce a set of use cases. Based on these, wire-frame screen layouts were produced which were then transformed into a functional specification. A data model was drawn up which enabled a data quality assessment of existing data to be carried out.
