The LPMA is considered a world leader in land information and management. Part of LPMA’s responsibility is the creation, storage and dissemination of land-related data, some of which is in the form of electronic documents such as images and structured data. Government and commercial organisations rely on timely delivery of this data.
Existing document delivery systems were not reliable enough and could not be extended easily to interface with the ever-expanding array of systems. DeX was therefore instigated to provide a single point from which to deliver all documents internally and externally.
DeX facilitates the delivery of: manually ordered documents, subscribed documents that are regular supplied and ad hoc documents directly sent to named recipients or to subscribers.
Documents can be retrieved via a portal user interface, web-services or FTP.
DeX is a Java application exposed as a suite of services. Those required for inter-system communication are proxied on the Enterprise Service Bus. The user interface is a collection of portlets.
